About mirgarza77

Some times, bad things happen to good people.  I've been there myself, and sadly, on more than one occasion.  I lost my father whom I was very close to at the tender age of 16.  Then, I lost my beloved mother on December 13, 2001.  She suffered from emphysema and in addition had three heart attacks, diabetes, and severe allergies, so she suffered for several years before she passed away...I miss her so bad...still to this day, I have days that are tough because I miss her so much, but I try to hang on to the precious memories I have, and know that she isn't suffering anymore, and that I will see her again some day.  As for me, I've dealt with depression, anxiety attacks, panic attacks, and migranes from the time I was a little girl.  And I am Bipolar II.  Because of those issues, along with "life"...pregnant at 17...the father I caught cheating not long before giving birth.  And I've had to deal with financial struggles most of my adult life, and due to my bipolar have lost several jobs, attempted suicide three or so times (sadly I lost count), lost a live in relationship and a marriage, eventually gave up college, was evicted from my home in which I lost most all my belongings, including precious life long belongings, and lost not one, not two, but three cars, lost a home I once actually owned & there's more, but I'll stop there.

Just hang in there, take things one day at a time.  Deal with each issue and problem one at a time.  Prioritize the most important issues first...then work off that list.  Just don't let yourself get to down or overwhelmed because that's when things can really snow ball & get worse.  Get some counseling to help you through the most difficult times...there are pro-bono & sliding fee counselors out there....and the free clinics are a really great source, not just for medical, but DENTAL and counseling.  Most counties offer sliding fee scale medical & dental programs too, if you don't qualify for the free clinics.  Also, same with your debts...prioritize...organize and work on paying them down one at a time...file bankruptcy if you have to....I did.  Also, for extra money...sign up with marketing companies & do demos, pr, product sampling, etc...they have jobs where you can work one day or three days in a row & pay anywhere from $12 to $24 an hour....try Advantage Sales & Marketing, NARMS or ICCDS.  Apply for food stamps, apply for a free SafeLink Cell Phone, apply for heating/air assistance, be a frugally smart shopper... use coupons, rideshare...what ever you can to cut down expenses and save.   Find a Goodwill & shop there inexpensively...they even have a store online.  Also, join Freecycle in your area...they have a group that offers anything & everything free...first come, first serve.  People post things they have available to give away...and you do the same.

I have (as well as many great other people here do to) a website that has TONS of resource links, to include:  finding free clinics, dental programs, counseling, jobs, utility assistance, rental assistance, etc., etc.  Resourcefully For You ... Be sure to check it out...you can find links to all the ideas I posted above & more.  Just take advantage of any & all the assistance out there.  I didn't mean to write this much, but I'd rather take my time and be as thorough and helpful as I can to one person, than giving 10 people a quick line of jabber.  Good luck to you, and again...one day, one issue at a time.  And I don't know if your religious or not, but it really does help to pray & trust in God.

If there was no struggle, then there will be no life?

 in response to HelpGiveUSHope...

I agree, there is a great need for non-profit foundations for those "In Need"....which is the foundation I eventually would like to get off the ground.  And I've been working since early 07 myself to get such a foundation going through my website Resourcefully For You, but unfortunately & sadly there just  hasn't been any funds and/or donations to enable me to get such a foundation off the ground, let alone sustain it.  It's taken me two years of constant work, upgrading, advertising & promoting Resourcefully For You just to get it to where it is today.

So if anyone has any significant ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear them because it really is tough these days to try and offer such services or start a truly needed foundation for several reasons, one being that there are so so....many scams & scammers out there who don't really care deep down, so people  aren't willing to donate unless a foundation is led by an already established significant & well-known trustworthly person.  It's like you've seen one foundation, charity or program asking for donations & help...you've seen them all...on to the next.  And unfortunately, for those who want to truly want to help, while also make a living themselves...it just makes it very difficult.

I wish you luck in getting your foundation off the ground, and if you become successful, I hope you will share your strategies, as there is definately the need for more foundations that will truly help those in dire need.  Currently, the only foundations I'm aware of that help such in need ...small loans, etc. is "Modest Needs" and one other that I know of, but they have soooo many applicants they approve very few applicants...no where near what is needed.

Sorry for the long post, it seems once I get started writing, I always have much to say...sometimes to much.  I apologize.  I just wish there was so much more than I could do..it never feels like it's enough, especially when I come to Aidpage and read on a daily basis all the extraordinary needs of others. :(

My NEW updated website, Resourcefully For You...with a page dedicated to VA/SWVA

Resourcefully For You

*March 09 -  I am proud to announce I have made my website (formally Resourceful Living) official, and in the process has a new name, new logo, banners, and has been updated & streamlined with many more great National resourceful links of assistance, plus great link exchange partners to provide you with even more great information and resources.  And in addition, I have partnered with several great businesses to also offer affordable online shopping, and have added a brand new forum to my website.  R4U offers assistance links of most all types...Alcohol/Drug Issues, Charities, Support, Medical/Dental Assistance, Transportation Issues, Mental Health, Utility/Phone/Food/Clothing assistance links, plus Government programs links, Legal Assistance, Prescription Assistance, and more!  I also have a page dedicated to the VA/NRV/SWVA areas.  There really are many great different helpful resource links on my website, so please be sure to keep checking my page, as it continues to change and grow and continiously has updates & added assistance resource links.

*I changed the name due to my website's former name, "Resourceful Living" being copied and used by many other sites & bloggers...so, NOTE for all WAH persons...COPYRIGHT and/or Trademark your work!  When I first started Resourceful Living & researched my new title...it was original.

In addition to my main website R4U, I also have a page dedicated to Mental Health Matter's where you can find many stories, resources, links, information, support, etc. for mental illness of all kinds.  And living with Bipolar II, anxiety disorders, and depression, as I do, I definately have to take all things "one day at a time" because honestly, sometimes this is the only way I can get through a day without becoming too overwhelmed and giving up.  So as you see, I have my own personal daily issues, problems & struggles.

Also to help aid you, read some of my personal blogging (with my personal opinions, thoughts, concerns, struggles, etc), find different life resources/links, information, inspiration & encouragement & much more.  Visit my page collectively titled...R4U's Life Matter's.  Please feel free to email me any time.  And if you havethe time, please leave me a message and/or comment, I'd love to read them...for they (you) are my inspiration too!

I now also have a new page called WAHHousewives (Work-at-Home-Housewives)  Here you will be able to find a variety of information about WAH, and if that is even something you would be interested in doing.  And NO it is not a get rich quick option, NOR can you make tons of money upfront, BUT what it does do is allow you the possibility to do just that in your future.  You can make a small income in the beginning depending on how much time and effort you put into your WAH job(s) as well as your amount of support in family, friends and networking opportunites.

I started my WAHH page just to try and help point out some of the particulars of WAH, and also because I saw soooooo many sites for WAHM's, but I was not a full-time mommy, (I have one grown son, and two young step-children whom we only have on Saturdays) and I couldn't really find any sites dedicated to just us plain ole WAHHousewives, so I created one.  So hope you'll visit!

Also, feel free to visit me & send me a friend request on my Myspace page, collectively titled, "Resourcefully Yours" formally Resourceful Living.

Help IN GEORGIA

Typically, there are community programs out there that help to keep your home when behind on payments, if you qualify, however I'm not quite sure in your situation with it being the property taxes; however, it is possible they may be able to help or point you in the right direction.  So try locating your Community Action Program and check with them.  There are several other links and/or programs (charities, government programs, tips, info & such) listed on my Resourcefully For You website , so you may check that out as well.

Also, something to think about is... IF you are able to obtain assistance, one thing you will have to be able to do is to maintain your tax payments in the future if they do assist you, so you will need to figure out ahead of time a way to either increase your income or make cutbacks and be frugal where possible IF you are going to get ahead or be able to maintain paying your taxes on your home.

I don't know what your total amount is that you owe in back property taxes, but many times, if you contact them, they will work with you by setting up a payment plan...so if you haven't tried that...you should before it's too late.  My son was able to set up & pay off his taxes of $450 in a year with small monthly payments, and now I'm proud to say, he is ahead & thriving.  Also, I have personally been on a personal property payment plan and was able to pay mine off in just a few short months too.  But you need to take action in this situation asap while you still can.

Of course, these are just my opinions & suggestions, and there may be other options, but hopefully one of the above will work out for you.  Best of Luck to you.  And PRAY (& have faith) for help and answers....you may be surprised.  I can honestly say that has helped me more than a few times in the past couple of years.

Housing Assistance

I worked in HUD Housing for few years, and yes there are different programs out there that may help you in your situation.  Specifically, Section 8 Rental Assistance (Housing Choice Voucher Program) and there's Public Housing.  IF you are already in the Section 8* HCV Program, and your income has decreased, and expenses increased...then you definately need to go to your office immediately, and have them recalculate your Tenant Portion of your rent.

Otherwise, you can visit the HUD website to locate the specific programs in your area here:

http://www.hud.gov/progdesc/pihindx.cfm

You can also visit my website Resourceful Living

*Scroll down to about the center of the page...there you will find more Housing/Rental Assistance links under the heading  Housing/Rental Assistance:

What's on your heart and mind today?

 in response to Laura14...

Google Ads, WAH, etc.s all good opportunities, and yes, Aidpage is a great place to be able to come to for support and for some, hopefully, a solution, and I agree, Aidpage should be kept "real" as possible or I should say, more in the immediate future needs of others, rather than possible future solutions.

Wow, I can still remember back a couple of years ago, there were some very supportive people here for me in my time of need, and I'm still thankful for them all, otherwise I might have been dead now. My how things change.

As for me, I just like to come in once in a while to update my page, and provide any kind of resource links if I can, but ONLY once in a blue moon, as I know there are many people here who are in "real" need of  solutions and quickly, as I once lost my car, job, home and basically everything I owned in just two short weeks.

Google Ads is definately a good way to be in business for yourself,  make a little extra cash, and a good potential for your future earnings, but certainly not the answer to many problems many are facing right here right now.  Number one, take things ONE DAY AT A TIME, ONE PROBLEM AT A TIME, and DON'T let it get the best of you or overwhelm you...you need to remain on top of things...keep your senses about you, that's most important.  If that means a trip to the free clinic, counselor, mental hospital or what have you, then so be it...go for your own good!

Good luck to all, and I encourage you to use all your local community resources, and if they won't listen, then make them hear your voice!

Comment: hi, just wanted to let you...

I have my own site http://www.freewebs.com/resour cefulliving and what I can say is, freewebs does NOT cost anything to run. In my website, I fully tell about myself, and basically that I'm in need. I have several donation buttons set up for anyone who could make a donation to help me make a living, get back on my feet in return for me providing a site of resources, much like here. Resources to all sorts of different needs both national and local. I also have a guestbook (which no one has signed yet, so PLEASE stop by!) as well as a forum where those in need can just converse, offer each other support, information, encouragement, and such. Also where people can post if/when & what they can help with, as well as a topic for those in need to list their needs. Then I have links to my other sites as well. But my site is legit & I have my personal pics up, my email & explain my situation, and the general area in which I live, so CHECK IT OUT. Unfortunately, I have not had anyone of the hundred & some visitors even sign my guestbook or post in my forum, let alone make a donation. It's tough out there & what's sad is the scammers out there in internet land make it impossible for the real people in need to get real help. As far as freewebs helping the needy, they're asking for $$$ up front to run the site that cost nothing, so I'd be very leary too. I was/am hoping to eventually..some day to be able to straighten my own life out, and in addition make a living helping others with my sites, but I have to make real money, and so far not a penny, but I would luv to get to that point in the future. I just hope I make it & survive until that happens. Bills, medications & other problems & needs don't wait or delay, they just are. JMO
